The satellite radio pioneer, SiriusXM, has now introduced a new plan which will cost only $4 per month. The new plan that the company has introduced is a Student Premier subscription that will offer all the 200-plus music channels to the students. These channels often come packed with the usual Premiere Streaming package, which costs $13, and the discount is especially for the students, and they will be paying less than a third of the usual price.
With the new cost-effective plan, students could wind down with Kevin Hart’s comedy channel or psych themselves up with BPM for about the price of nice coffee.
Our news sources have reported that the discounted rate for the subscription will be applicable only if a user will be a verified student.
“Today’s college students grew up listening to SiriusXM in their parent’s car, and now we have a package built just for them,” said SiriusXM Outside the Car vice president Matt Epstein. “Our Student Premier Package enables students to have their own subscription and continue to enjoy the SiriusXM programming they love in their dorm room, at home or on the go.”
At present, Student Premier subscription is the cheapest streaming offering from the side of SiriusXM. There are reports that the company in April launched an $8 streaming-only plan that was designed to target the audience that does not have cars. The price of the streaming-only plan that SiriusXM launched in April was just half the price of the company’s SiriusXM’s in-car packages, which starts at $15.99 per month.
